A discovery call should feel like a conversation, not a pitch. Here's the structure I teach:
Start with connection — 2 minutes, warm and human.
Ask about their situation — 'Tell me a bit about your business and what's happening right now.'
Dig into the pain — 'What's the biggest thing getting in the way of where you want to be?'
Paint the picture — 'If that problem was solved, what would change?'
Present your solution — only after you truly understand their problem.
Handle objections with curiosity, not defence.
Give a clear next step — never end without one.
This structure works because it puts the client's needs at the centre.
