Because sometimes the thing standing between you and your next move… is you.
Building a business isn't just about learning marketing, finding clients or figuring out what to charge.
There's a whole lot of “Who am I to do this?”, overthinking, comparison, fear of putting yourself out there and wondering whether you're actually cut out for it.
You are.
But that doesn't mean you'll always feel like it.
These are some of my favourite resources for getting out of your own head, building your confidence and becoming the person who can create the business and life you actually want.
Sometimes one idea from the right book changes everything.
I've read a LOT of personal development and business books over the years — and there are definitely some I recommend more than others.
A few worth starting with:
Untamed — Glennon Doyle
For questioning the expectations you've been living by and getting clearer about what you actually want.
Rich as F*ck — Amanda Frances
For thinking differently about money, receiving and what's possible for you.
The Queen's Code — Alison Armstrong
One of the books I've personally found really interesting around communication and relationships.

Change the belief behind the behaviour
Sometimes you know exactly what you should be doing — but something keeps getting in the way.
You procrastinate. You second-guess yourself. You avoid putting yourself out there. You tell yourself you're not ready yet, you need another qualification, or you'll do it when you feel more confident.
That's where Beliefetics comes in.
Created by Jana Kingsford, Beliefetics is a mindset methodology focused on identifying and shifting the beliefs sitting underneath the way you think, feel and act.
I love this approach because it goes deeper than simply telling yourself to “think positively.” It encourages you to look at the belief driving the pattern in the first place.
QUICK WIN: Think about something you've been avoiding in your business and ask yourself:
“What would I have to believe for this behaviour to make sense?”
Don't try to fix it immediately. Just notice what comes up.
I'm currently waiting for the Beliefetics website to come back online. Check Jana Out Here in the meantime:
Know your numbers without living in spreadsheets.
Xero is cloud-based accounting software that helps you keep your business finances organised, from sending invoices and tracking expenses to reconciling your bank account and keeping an eye on your cash flow.
I recommend getting your accounting system set up properly from the beginning. Future you (and your accountant!) will thank you.
QUICK WIN: Connect your business bank account and start reconciling regularly. Even 10 minutes a week will give you a much clearer picture of what's actually happening with your money.
